Livingwoods are a group of well established furniture stores specialising in solid oak, pine, Ash and other solid timbers used in furniture construction.

With branches in Lancaster, Lincoln, Coventry and Driffield, each store is independantly owned and operated by people who provide a local hands on approach where customer service and satisfaction are paramount.

At Livingwoods, we source quality furniture from sustainable sources and continually add new and exciting ranges to compliment our proven existing winners, of which many of the ranges are available immediately, from stock!

Most of our furniture is constructed from solid wood, though many manufacturers have now added some veneers to areas such as table tops and large panels on wardrobes for example. This has been introduced mainly for stability reasons as large areas of solid timber are prone to movement and shrinkage due to temperature and humidity variations.This movement is a natural process and can often manifest itself in the form of small cracks, also known as shakes, which is mainly caused by the way we live today with extremes from wet rooms to central heating and even conservatories, which all have an effect on real wood products. Veneered panels are inherantly much more stable and less succeptable to humidity and temperature changes thus maintaining their beauty and finish for years to come, and being affected far less,or not at all, by todays home enviroment.
